Dear Cardiff and Vale Scouts,
I would like to begin by introducing myself as the Partnership Executive at the Lord’s Taverners, the UK’s leading youth disability sports charity.
I am hoping you can encourage all Cardiff and Vale Scouts to be part of the Reverse Running Record Attempt, which is taking place on Friday 9th July (or a day that suits for each Scout group). This can also count towards the Scouts funraising badge.
It is an amazing challenge aimed at getting the nation’s children active while supporting the amazing charitable work of the Lord’s Taverners and Change Foundation charities. I have attached details on how to get involved.
One of the supporters of this challenge, Michael Ferndale, will be running 5 marathons in reverse with a route planned in Cardiff City Centre.
This will be taking place from the 6th July through to the 10th July and It would be fantastic if any Scouts could do anything in reverse, from walking, running or getting dressed. The choice is theirs!
We are hoping to raise funds to support disadvantaged and disabled young people and would encourage each child to donate £1 to take part, with money raised supporting both the Lord’s Taverners and Change Foundation charitable programmes..
It would be great if you could share this opportunity through your Scouts network and If there are any questions, please contact either myself or my colleague Heidi.coleman@lordstaverners.org
Kind regards,
Richard
