We have been asked to promote the following volunteer opportunities. If you are able to help please contact the organisation directly.
Thank you.
I work for Cancer Research UK and would love to see if your squad would be available to volunteer and help us at an event site? In your area we have the Shine Cardiff on 7th October 2022. We need keen, enthusiastic, and passionate over 18 year old individuals to come along for the day and help make our events in your community amazing!
No two events are the same and we think the energy your group could bring to the event would be very encouraging for the participants on the day!
I know that you do lots of volunteering work already, but it would be great to have you involved at an event with Cancer Research UK.
If you are interested in volunteering with us, then please can you fill out our application form on your chosen event here and sign up as a group – If all individuals volunteering within the group also fill in an application form that will be brilliant!
If you have any issues or wish to know more about how other groups like yours have helped in the past, then please let me know.
Thank you for supporting us,
Emily

We are pleased to announce The Royal British Legion Wales will be hosting a City Poppy Day in Cardiff on Saturday 29th October 2022.
We’d be delighted if you could be part of our special event this year.
The City Poppy Day is a one-day street collection involving uniformed personnel from the Royal Navy, British Army, Royal Air Force, veterans, volunteers and supporters. Collections happen from throughout the day in railway stations, offices and throughout the streets of Cardiff. This event is supported significantly by many civilian agencies, emergency services, businesses and influential figureheads.
Cardiff Poppy Day provides the opportunity for the public to interact with serving military and veterans, the very individuals they are supporting through their donations to the Royal British Legion. The importance of Cardiff Poppy Day goes beyond fundraising, through creating and strengthening positive associations between the armed forces community and the public.
If you are able to help out please contact Lilly directly and it would helpful if you mention that Dennis Hunt put you in touch in any communication with Lilly as he is the initial local point of contact for the Scout Association.

Joint research is being undertaken in the Biomechanics and Bioengineering Research Centre Versus Arthritis, Cardiff University
Would you like to help with our research in Arthritis?
We are looking for healthy volunteers (aged between 18 – 80 years old) to participate in our knee study at Cardiff University.
We have been asked by researchers at Cardiff University to see if you would be interested in participating in a research project on knee problems. This study will look at differences in how people with and without knee problems are affected during normal daily activities.
You have therefore been invited to take part in a research study to assess your movements during a range of daily activities such as walking, reaching, bending and sitting.
If you would like to take part please get in touch by:
emailing us at ArthritisCentre@cardiff.ac.uk
or calling us on 029 2087 5419
A member of the research team from Cardiff University will get back in touch to explain the study in detail and to see if you are willing to participate in this research as well as give you an opportunity to ask questions.
You do not have to take part in the study if you don’t wish to, you will not be contacted again about this study.
Yours sincerely,
