Applying for a Grant

All Grants should be applied for using the online form, selecting the correct grant. Please note you will only be entitled to claim one grant in a 12 month period. All Grants will be paid by BACS into a Scout Bank Account only. No transfer will be made into individual bank accounts.

Available grants

The Sub-Committee meets regularly to consider applications for grants.

The Area has three grants:

This supports grass roots scouting. This can be used for a number of things including Uniform, Trips, help with Subs, Camps. No UK or ScoutCymru led international trips will qualify for this.

The Area Commissioner is consulted prior to awarding more than £100.

This supports a wide range of activities including the World Scout Jamboree, Roverway, Moot, Explorer belts and other international visits. Awards can be made to an individual or more likely, to a group of people.

Equipment
This supports the purchase on equipment and running of events. They will be awarded up to 50% and to a maximum of £250 of the cost of the equipment or event.

Activity Training
Activity Training grant are available for all adults in the area who wish to apply for help with the cost of a training course to maximum of 50% of the cost, up to a maximum of £400 will be paid. The approval of an Area line manager either District Commissioner or Area Commissioner is needed. There must be a need in the area for training and must not be covered by any of the training offered directly from the Area Training Team. Typically this might apply to courses for gaining a qualification for a National Governing Body in order to gain an Activity Permit
